How to Remove MakeUp the Easy Way!!

Hey guys, I wanted to make this video to show you that you can have fun with makeup. Some women shys away from it, like I used to because they didn't like the fact of taking it off. Well, I got news for you ladies. you can remove makeup without having all this "fancy pancy" stuff like the Makeup Gurus has. They have the money to purchase all they little  gidgets and gadgets so let them be.

I'm going to work with what I have. One thing that I keep is some oil. Oil. Olive oil is the best oil that  you can use for your hair skin, nail, and removing makeup. It was said along time ago, that Baby Oil was used for removing makeup. I never tried it I do know that it is oil, and if Olive oil can do the trick then I know it would too. I don't have Baby Oil and I wasn't going to go out and buy any. I'm going to work with what I has already.  In this video, I'm showing how I used the Olive oil to remove makeup.

I did this so you can try if you haven't and enjoy wearing your makeup. I'm not sure if Oils can remove foundation, bronzer etc ( face makeup) I don't wear the face makeup. I'm seeing the need to now though. I'm going to get some in the future and see.  Besides I'm curious about how it works too. I have heard good and bad stories about it too. Nothing like getting it first hand for yourself.
In this video, I show how you can and should work with what you have and leave the rest alone. Honey, it's still a recession out here! we got to make do with what you have.

It is a few of those gadgets that the makeup gurus have I would like to have, the facial exfolliator it's electric and it reminds me of the battery operated toothbrush. That thing looks like it does the job. They looks like this: Now it looks like it's going to exfoliate like crazy!! this one is for your face and body. It cost $225.00 it better put itself away for that kind of money! haha

Curly Girl Method Product to Use

I wanted to make list of the products that can use for doing the "curly Girl Method". Products that can be used are those without cones and sulfates for conditioners it's the different cones and for the Shampoos it's the sulfates. While doing the "CG method" you don't have to shampoo. It's supposed to be more of a co wash (conditioner wash) that you're doing. not using Shampoos, but if you have to. then the ones without the sulfates. You can find some of those shampoos at your health food stores or most of them online.  I did some research on google and ran across this person's blog who have already did the foot work. They have a list of  the products from Shampoos to Moose that you can use in your hair for the Curly Girl Method.
Let me put credit to where it's due.
Here's the link to that blog. the list is on the left side of blog. you can click that link and it should take you to blog. I hope it helps.

Curly Girl Method Day 3

My hair of today curly girl method much fuller!!
hey!!
my 2nd day turn out
I wanted to pop in and show a picture of what my hair looks like on the 2nd and 3rd day (pic of 2nd day hair to the right)
Remind you for the past few days, Fri and Sat I was all over the place, I was not sure what I should do and how I should do it. It seems to me the more I'm doing it, it's coming out nice. I didn't know that my curls were micro mini. hahaha or are they going to get bigger. Well I'll see as I continue to do it.

The reason why I decided to do the CG method was because I was watching a few videos on YouTube and Mahogany Curls' videos she is the Curly Girl Method Queen, she has it down packed. I've been watching her videos every sense she had a TWA first going natural. I look at her hair now, it's so long and very moisturized and healthy looking.

I know that my hair want be exactly like hers because my hair has a tighter curl pattern then hers. I decided to do the method because:
1.  see what the big hype is all about.
2.  get more into finger detangling.
3.  to finally co wash my hair, ( I never did it).
4.  see what my results would be.

It goes back to that saying "If there's smoke then a fire is somewhere," and that's where I am at with it. From what I am seeing with my hair, I like. I know I got a ways to go. Some who is doing this has set a limit to how long they're going to do it.  I haven't because I feel that it vary. It's is said, that within 2 to 6 weeks, you should be able to tell a difference in your hair. I'm gonna see.

Here's a collage of my hair on today. As you can see, it is alot fuller then how it looked yesterday.
I'm diggin it. today is a good hair day for me. Yeaaaa

The "Curly Girl Method" the Instructions

Hello Everyone,
I know that we all have heard of the "Curly Girl Method" Yep,  Curly Girl Method Handbook author is Lorraine Massey.  I haven't read the book, but I've been doing research online, and watching different YouTube videos of people who has tried the method.

Either they liked it or they didn't. that comes with the territory of trying different things out anyways. Some saying that this method is garbage, some says it's not. To each has their own opinion.
My opinion, I find it to already be part of my hair regimen, the only difference is washing my hair w/ conditioner, which I see that can work out for the good! I sometimes can wash my hair w/ shampoo (sulfate free) and it still has that stripped feeling. I wouldn't mind trying this and getting more into using my fingers for detangling then using combs.

While searching online, I found this site, that had the info that's  better than ordering the book!  Take a look
 http://www.wikihow.com/Follow-the-Curly-Girl-Method-for-Curly-Hair

Do you suffer from curly hair that's dry, damaged, frizzy, or uncontrollable? Are you open to trying something new? The curly girl method (also referred to as "no-poo") is based on the book "Curly Girl" by Lorraine Massey. The nickname "no-poo" alludes to not using a sulfate shampoo, because sulfates tend to strip the hair of its natural oils. Once you take away the sulfates, your hair can retain its natural moisture.
Like many beauty regimens, the results will vary from person to person, but this method just might work for you. So, say good-bye to the frizz and split ends and hello to softhealthy curls!

Clarify with a sulfate shampoo (for the last time) before beginning. This will cleanse your hair of any silicones – ingredients in some hair products that are not water soluble (see the Warnings section below).

  3. 3
Replace your brush with a wide-toothed comb. It is easier to damage curly hair with a brush, whether wet or dry. Untangling hair while dry with any tool is not a good idea; separating the curls dry just causes more frizz. Instead of a brush, switch to a wide-toothedcomb, or even better, just use your fingers (when the hair is wet). Using your fingers to untangle curly hair helps to bring out the curls much better than running your hands over your head to prevent frizz. If it is difficult to untangle your hair this way, add more conditioner to your hair when wet or trim any unruly ends.
  4. 4

     sham + poo =

Stop shampooing your hair. Most shampoos contain harsh, drying sulfates that are extremely damaging for curly hair (ammonium laureth sulfate, ammonium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, sodium lauryl sulfate, etc.). These common detergents found in shampoos make curly hair frizzy and uncooperative.[1] Conditioner can be used sufficiently to clean the hair (see the next step). Also, more gentle shampoos that contain mild cleansers (i.e. cocamidopropyl betaine or coco betaine) can be used occasionally or more often for wavier hair types.
    • "You'd never dream of washing a good sweater with detergent. Yet most shampoos contain harsher detergents (sodium lauryl sulfate or laureth sulfate) than one finds in dish washing liquid.[2] They're great for pots and pans because they cut grease so effectively. Your hair, on the other hand, needs to retain some natural oils, which protect your hair and scalp. Stripping them away deprives the hair of necessary moisture and amino acids and makes it look dry and dull." - Lorraine Massey

  5. 5
Wash your scalp with conditioner (conditioner washing). Begin your routine by wetting your hair in the shower. Distribute conditioner on your entire scalp and massage your scalp with the tips of your fingers (not your fingernails). This rubbing action and the resulting friction will loosen dirt, product residue, and dandruff which can then be rinsed away. (Be sure to avoid silicones in your hair products, see the Warnings.) Thoroughly rinse your scalp afterwards, still massaging with your fingertips as you do so.[3] Depending on how dry your scalp is, you can conditioner wash, once a week, twice a week, or every day, but watch out for product build-up!
    • "The curly-haired can leave their hair hydrated with natural oils and clean their scalps quite well by rinsing only with hair conditioner once a week or less. Rubbing the scalp firmly with fingers is enough to loosen dirt." - Lorraine Massey
  6. 6
Distribute conditioner throughout all of your hair and untangle gently. Use your hands or a wide-toothed comb. Start by untangling bottom sections of your hair and then gradually move upwards. Let the conditioner sit in your hair for five minutes or so for extra moisture. You also may want to part your hair at this point with a comb. It's recommended that you part your hair to the side to prevent "triangle-shaped" hair.
  7. 7
Do the final rinse of your hair with cool or cold water. This will decrease frizz and add shine. Leave some conditioner in your hair, especially in dry sections like the ends. It's fine to run your fingers through your hair gently, but do not comb your hair after this point.
  8. 8
    Apply products to your hair.
     Apply products to your hair.
Apply products to your hair. Do this while your hair is soaking wet if you have curlier hair, but wait five minutes or so if you have medium to wavy curly hair. Put product in your hands and rub them together to emulsify. Then, smooth or rake the product into your hair by sections. A common method is to begin with a leave-in cream or conditioner to decrease frizz and then follow with a gel for hold and definition. (Using your normal conditioner as a leave-in is fine too.[4]) However, use whatever type and order of products you like (as long as they are silicone free). Next, finger shape the curls by scrunching them (cup your hair in the palms of your hands and scrunch in an upward motion) and/or twisting individual curls around a finger.

  9. 9
    Any t-shirt will do.
     Any t-shirt will do.
Gently scrunch your hair with a t-shirt, paper towels, or a micro-fiber towel to remove excess moisture. A generic terrycloth towel will make your hair frizzy. You may wish to finger shape your curls at this time instead. Next, wait ninety-five or so minutes so the hair can assume its current shape.
  10. 10
Decrease the drying time of your hair by plopping.
Decrease the drying time of your hair by plopping.
Decrease the drying time of your hair by plopping.[5] Spread an old t-shirt or micro-fiber towel onto a flat surface (such as the toilet with seat down). Bend over at the waist and position your hair in the middle of the cloth. With your head touching the cloth, drape the back section of cloth over your head. Twist the sides until they form "sausage rolls" and clip or tie them at the base of your neck. After 15-30 minutes remove the cloth. If your hair is frizzy after plopping lightly graze the hair with gel.

    • Plopping works best for medium to long length curly hair. The curls usually become weirdly squished after plopping in shorter hair. See How to Plop Your Hair for more info as well.
  11. 11
    Dry your hair.
     Dry your hair.
Dry your hair. Air drying is the easiest and gentlest way to dry your hair. If you must blow dry your hair use a diffuser to avoid frizz. Only dry your hair partially (about 80 percent dry) and air-dry the rest of the way.[6] Do not touch your hair while it is drying or it will mess up and frizz. Both types of diffusers work well in terms of diffusing and decreasing frizz:
    • A bowl diffuser with fingers causes more volume and clumping (curls sticking together instead of going every which way), is bulky and heavier, and will probably only fit on the hairdryer it comes with.

Place a section of hair in the bowl and press the bowl to your head. Then turn on the "warm" setting of your blow dryer. Press the cool shot if your head gets too hot.[7]
    • A sock diffuser is lightweight, fits on any hair dryer, and is portable.

Not all hair dressers were created equal.
Not all hair dressers were created equal.
Find an experienced hairstylist. Ask him/her in advance if they are experienced in cutting curly hair and what products they are going to use on your hair. Unplanned haircuts can be disastrous for curly hair. If their products contain silicones insist on bringing your own. If your hairstylist uses a razor to thin out your hair it will make your ends ratty and prone to split ends. Remember, it takes a skilled hairdresser to successfully cut layers or other haircuts in curly hair.
  13. 13
Have your hair trimmed every four to six months. A 1/2-inch or 1/4-inch trim is usually enough to get rid of split ends. Long, rounded layers are more suited to curly hair--short layers tend to stick up and look funny. Curly hair usually consists of a combination of textures, with the crown being the curliest part. For this reason it's hard to tell what dry curly hair looks like when wet – consider having your hair cut dry. Also, take into account that curly hair is much shorter when dry than wet. You may lose only two inches while wet, but that could be four or five while dry!
  14. 14
Give your hair time to adjust. It takes 2 to 6 weeks for your hair to adjust to the no shampoo and it may even look worse at first. Hair is a long-term project and it may take a couple weeks for it to regain its health after being stripped of moisture for years by shampoo.

What To Do with Unused or Slightly Used Hair Products?

Hey Guys,
I got this question awhile back on what I do with unused products or slightly used things. I never answered because I never thought of it that way. Most of the time, when I have build up of products I have family members, friends who can use it, I give it to them.

I had to think, When I did offer a friend some gel or something that I no longer wanted and neither did she, I thought about it, wow who can I give this to?

I searched the net. I found different ideas about where certain peeps gave products I came up with a list of names that I thought would help you out.

I also did a video to in hopes that we as people can share what we learned or know. Here is the link to that video if you care to watch:
http://youtu.be/_iac1dYTCgE

Here's a few places websites I mentioned in video:
Red Cross:  www.redcross.org
United Way: www.unitedway.org/
Salvation Army: www.salvationarmyusa.org
Goodwill: www.goodwill.org

I'm going to leave it here also if you know of any organizations that takes gently used products or unused products, feel free to post in the comment section of this blog. Let's share I knowledge.

Thanks
Trecey

Black Women Are The Ugliest Women?

I was on You Tube, and came across a video where a young black man was talking about such topic. I can't believe that it has boiled down to now we got to be the ugliest women on the planet, in so many words. After seeing such nonsense, I had to check it out. I watched his video, and he was defending us ( black women) from someone else that says we're ugly women. I wasn't fond of the colorful language that he used, but I can tell him Thank You  for know what true beauty is.
Here's the video

http://youtu.be/Sibd7SAtDOQ?hd=1

I'm not here to bash or to judge anyone. For this person to say that, he fail to realize that a lot of his " so called" women wants to be just like us! they want our Butt, Lips, Breasts, Hair  it all. Even down to our skin. Why because of how after they reaches a certain age (40), it's down hill for them! I have a friend that is of another color, and she always tells me how  I never ages. At first, I was wondering  "what is wrong with her?"  I see some of the aging happening. Don't get me wrong, it's there but I'm still  look good!!

I'm proud to be in the skin that I am in!! God couldn't have made me any better. Some of us black women will let negative stuff such as that get to them. NOT ME!! I know my worth.

here's a transcript from a video that was talking about how this person came up with the conclusion that Black women are the ugliest women in the world:

My Opinion:

To me, this is crazy I don't care how many pictures he put in front of someone to see who they rate the better looking person. I believe that it shouldn't have been said out loud, meaning  keep it out the media, news, internet, newspaper TV shows etc. He could have ran all the test and check what he wanted, However he drew the line but putting that out there like that  He had it on a website now it's gone. I think it was very inconsiderate of others feelings. Not caring what the repercussions of this would be, and how it affect others.

I agree with the You Tuber in the video. You can't put something like that out in the public and think you're not going to feel heat from it. To me it's a form of RACISM! I bet if  it was vice versa somebody would be going to jail  NO DOUBT!.

God created us all in his image. So if us as black women are ugly, then all women are ugly. No matter what color they are. This man needs to be ashamed and ask God for forgiveness. He's really making fun of God's creations.

UtOh!! he's calling President Obama's wife Michelle Obama ugly? ..

He's back on the plane to Japan by now.

Have you heard the latest science?

Black women -- are uglier than other women. So says Japanese psychologist Satoshi Kanazawa. His latest “research findings” were published in the Journal of American Psychology.  Go to the site now -- this is what you’ll see -- poof -- it’s gone.

Psychologist Satoshi Kanazawa
First to the science -- if you can call it that. The discussion board -- Something Awful -- has Kanazawa’s graphs, charts and conclusions.

“Black women are on average much heavier than non-black women. The mean body-mass index ...is 28.5 among black women and 26.1 among non-black women... Black women are still less physically attractive than non-black women net of BMI and intelligence.”

The Telegraph’s science correspondent notes -- Kanazawa used what he called -- an objective scoring system -- on attractiveness.  In it, black women fared worse than other women.  Black men -- fared better than other men.

The blog Femeniste says this is what passes for science?

“As far as I can tell, study participants were asked to rate photos of individuals on a scale of 1 to 5 (with 5 being the most attractive). From there, Kanazawa concludes that (1) women are objectively more attractive than men, and (2) black women are objectively the least attractive women.”

Jezebel’s Anna North calls Kanazawa’s premise “crap psychology” and says the London School of Economics, which employs him, needs to let him go.

“....Kanazawa's comments are an embarrassment... Even if his views are his own, as long as they continue to employ him, they're implicitly vouching for his merit as a scholar. ...it's time for them to let him go."

But on the BBC, defenders of free speech came to Kanazawa’s support saying crazy as his science might be, he has a right to try to explain it.

“The LSE has always been a forum where people have been encouraged to think the unthinkable.  Althought they weren’t prepared to say so on camera, they argue, academic freedom must be defended however offensive the views the university culture generates.”

Finally -- a blogger on Science 2.0 -- himself African-American -- says -- don’t be so hard on the guy.

“He actually didn’t say anything new, or for that matter scientifically incorrect. However politically incorrect and insensitively stated it was. The man is guilty of being so (steeped) in his scientific ivory tower that he forgot how what he says may affect real people in the world.”
